This illustration of Uncle Lubin known as "The Aeronaut" is from the children's book "The Adventures of Uncle Lubin" originally written and illustrated by Heath Robinson in 1902. This was the first of three books written and illustrated by Heath Robinson. The story describes his attempt to retrieve nephew baby Peter from the clutches of the wicked bag bird. Uncle Lubin is a little old man in a tall hat and long coat. No mortal could compare with him for ingenuity and inventiveness. He could do wonderful things with a piece of knotted string.
