These beautiful illustrations in black and white demonstrate all the possibilities of living in the modern flat. These two humorous illustrations are from the series Heath Robinson drew between 1932-33 entitled “Flat Life” for 'The Sketch' an illustrated newspaper weekly which depicted various gadgets designed to make the most of the limited space available in the contemporary flat. This series of drawings became the inspiration for a full-length book in 1936 co-authored with KRG Browne.
