Fairies in Illustration

This publication aims to show the different ways in which fairies and elves have been portrayed at different times. From the Victorian times they been portrayed  variously as malevolent sprites, makers of mischief, humorous imps, and sometimes as beautiful female figures. The 39 black & white and colour illustrations feature the creative work of Arthur Rackham, Noel Paton, Richard Doyle, Susan Harrison, Cicely Mary Barker, the Robinson brothers and many others.
